Rotary attachment

The Rotary attachment is used to engrave cylindrical objects like glasses and bottles. The rotary attachment is connected to the machine. It’s practically a holder for the object that’s going to be engraved. The holder will rotate the glass for optimal engraving surface.

The objects can have the following dimensions:

  • Diameter: up to 160 mm
  • Length: up to 485 mm
  • Weight: up to 3 kg

Prepare design

The design is prepared the same way as normal engraving. But it’s good to know that the design is engraved flat on the material.

Sending a job to the laser

This is also the same as engraving without a rotary attachment, check this link the guide.

Preparing laser

Rotary attachment connection
  1. First, the laser table must be lowered completely.
  2. The laser needs to be turned off.
  3. The rotary attachment must be placed on the plate and has to be aligned to the rulers on the plate of the machine.
  4. The rotary attachment has to be connected to the machine by putting the control cable in the motion system (front left inside the interior, see image below).

Preparing rotary attachment

Rotary attachment parts

The material can now be placed in de rotary attachment. Follow the steps below while using the image as a guide.

  1. Adjust the height by loosening and fixing lever 1 and screw 2 to make the workpiece fit into the rotary engraving attachment.
  2. Fix the slider of the rotary attachment with lever 3 until the workpiece is fixed between the two cones.
  3. Check if the workpiece is horizontal/level and, if necessary, adjust the level with lever 1 on the right side or lever 4 or screw 2 on the left side.
  4. Focus the laser; Position the laser over the object where it needs to engrave. Click here for a detailed explanation.
