FDM Retrieve the print
After successfully 3D printing your object, the next step is safely removing it from the build plate. Different printers may have distinct procedures. Below are guidelines for Ultimaker and Prusa printers, along with essential tips for a smooth removal process.
Ultimaker
After the print is finished, carefully loosen the clips and take off the build plate with the printed object on it. Caution: the build plate may still be hot! Place the build plate into the wooden holder, take a putty knife, and gently scrape off the object. For easier removal, you can soak the object in an alcohol solution for a couple of minutes to dissolve the glue. Always remember to clean your build plate with a paper towel before placing it back on the printer.
Prusa
Upon completion of the print, remove the magnetic build plate with the printed object. Be cautious, as the build plate may still be hot! With non-flexible filament, you can bend the build plate slightly to break the print off. If it remains stuck, soak the object in an alcohol solution for a couple of minutes to dissolve the glue. Always clean your build plate with a paper towel before reattaching it to the printer.
IMPORTANT Avoid using a putty knife on Prusa! Using one can result in damage to the protective layer of the build plate
